The Veteran Story Project is a documentary initiative dedicated to preserving the lived experiences of service members, veterans, and their families. Through long-form, trauma-informed interviews, we capture the moments that shape a life—service, transition, resilience, loss, and rediscovering purpose. Our mission is to ensure these stories are recorded with care, accuracy, and dignity.
We produce documentary interviews, story-driven short films, and archival media that highlight real veteran experiences. Each project is filmed by veterans, for veterans, with the goal of increasing understanding, strengthening community, and giving veterans space to reflect and be heard. As the archive grows, these stories form a national record of resilience and identity.
You can help this project reach more veterans across the country. Your support makes it possible to film interviews, expand our archive, and keep participation free for every veteran. Whether through sharing this mission, connecting us with storytellers, or contributing directly, your involvement helps ensure these stories aren’t lost.
Each interview reveals something different—courage, grief, humor, identity, and the work of rebuilding after service. These stories help veterans feel less alone and help communities understand the human side of military life. As we continue filming across the nation, this growing collection will serve as a trusted source of insight and connection.
We host filming days, recording events, and community storytelling sessions throughout the year. These events bring veterans together in supportive environments where they can share their stories and connect with others. New dates and locations will be added as the project expands.
If you’re a veteran, family member, or organization interested in participating or learning more, we’d love to connect. Reach out anytime to discuss interviews, partnerships, or future projects. Every story matters—and yours could help someone else find strength.
